Magento 2 has provided capabilities which can automatically generate meta data and SKU based on information provided in the Configuration. You can use name, SKU and description as dynamic variable in this auto generate fields. It will auto populate meta information on product create.
2. Metadata
Meta tag settings remains the same for each product page in Magento 2.0. One can set standard tags- Meta title, description and keywords From Product => Catalog => Add/Edit Product and “Search Engine Optimization Tab”. Product URL can also be specified on per store view basis.
3. Product Canonical Tag
In Magento 2.0 canonical link meta tag can be set in the same way as in Magento 1.0

SEO friendly URL’s can be created with Magento 2.0.

Category Page Optimization
Magento 2.0 has same features for setting up the the standard Meta tags- title, description and keywords. The tags can be set as per-store view basis. SEO friendly category URL can also be set as per store view basis. When filters are used, Magento 2 also preserve the same URL format for category pages.
XML site map
Magento 2.0 enables you to automatically add the XML site map to your robots.txt file. Sitemap index allows you to add images. It has great ability to use sitemap index and define different parameters on splitting items between XML files.
Rich Snippets
Schema.org has been added in Magento 2.0 as a default template which generate stuctured markup that can be used in google search results. This feature is enabled in Magento 2 by default.

Another awesome feature of Magento 2.0 is that it can edit robots.txt file. It can be done in following way:

Up sell, Cross sells and Related Products
Magento 2.0 possess three product relations- upsell, cross sell and related products.
Upsell means selling an expensive and high quality version of the product which a customer already owns or is buying or selling other features with the product like warrenty.
Cross sell displays related products that the customer already owns or wishes to buy. These products are generally from different product categories but they will be complimentary in nature.
Related products displaying the additional products which customer can buy along with original product.
These all things help in improving SEO and the internal links help in on-page SEO.
